COVID-19 Update

For Immediate Release; 7/21/2020

For 164 years, the Iowa County Fair has provided this community wonderful memories that last a lifetime. The Iowa County Fair has been creating opportunities for the youth in our community to build skills that shape our young people into tomorrow’s leaders.

What enables us to provide these opportunities is achieved with the help of supporters that participate in the Iowa County Fair Sponsorship Program. This advertising sponsorship program creates a partnership between the Iowa County Fair Society and businesses or individuals wanting to make a difference. In turn, your business will receive advertising opportunities through our website, social media, print advertisements and signage through our sponsorship wall or grandstand.

While we strive to provide an event that is educational, entertaining and fun for all families, we must keep in mind the safety of our exhibitors, volunteers, guests and all individuals that make the fair happen. Due to COVID-19, the fair will NOT be hosting grandstand events or having a carnival and there will be a limited array of food stands to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Due to the cancellation of these events, your sponsorship is more crucial than ever. In order to proceed with planning and adhering to safety guidelines, we need your sponsorship.

Our fair has made great progress these past few years thanks to our sponsors and volunteers! This year we are offering a unique opportunity for sponsorship. In addition to monetary sponsorships and volunteer hours, the fair board is encouraging donation of supplies and other materials. If you have materials to offer, please contact us at your earliest convenience.

In the next few weeks, we will be calling our past Iowa County Fair donors to inquire about sponsorship for 2020. In the event that the Iowa County Fair is canceled, refunds for sponsorship can be requested or sponsorships can be utilized for the 2021 Iowa County Fair.

If you wish to make a donation, you can mail it to:

Iowa County Fair, PO Box 92, Mineral Point, WI 53565

Please call Tammy Rule at 608-341-8247 with any questions regarding sponsorship for the 2020 Iowa County Fair.

The first Iowa County Fair was first held in 1851 in Dodgeville, WI and in 1856 the fair was moved to Mineral Point where the event has been annually for the last 160 years. It has been providing agricultural, educational and entertainment events to people from every town, village, and township in the Iowa County. The Iowa County Fair draws approximately 12,000 attendees

for the 5 day event. Many generations of Iowa County families, for over 150 years, have been participating in the Iowa County Fair and have made it an important part of their family traditions. This is the only activity that brings together generations, grandparents helping grandkids with their 4-H or FFA projects, just as their grandparents did before them.
